Magic: The Gathering’s Rise of the Polygons is a tiny binder adventure

Magic: The Gathering is a trading card game, but you can start this collection with the pictures. Rise of the Polygons | Extra Life 2026 is a Secret Lair bundle with a fixed selection of four cards and one Elemental token, all given the blocky look of 1990s 3D games. Its oversized boss fight and enormous sword suggest a small adventure for a binder page. No controller required.

Build a five-picture adventure

Young Pyromancer introduces a red-haired spellcaster holding a flame. Big Score surrounds the goggle-wearing adventurer with treasure, while Sword of Truth and Justice puts an enormous blade in hand. Balefire Dragon supplies the looming confrontation, and the Elemental token gives the fiery companion a picture of its own. All five complete card faces credit Brendan Sullivan.

Try Young Pyromancer, Big Score, Sword of Truth and Justice, Balefire Dragon, then the Elemental token as a little adventure. That is our suggested binder order: the treasure and sword build toward the dragon encounter. Leave some breathing room around the group so the eye can follow the recurring character from one picture to the next.

For a larger themed collection, FoilFox’s binder organizer explains how to plan by sheet, side and pocket while leaving room for the cards you still need.

You can enjoy the changing expressions, bright inventory-style icons and contrast between the tiny adventurer and dragon before learning every line of rules text. The shared look gives the page a clear theme, while each picture contributes a different moment.

Choose the finish you want to keep

Wizards’ announcement, checked November 3, 2026, lists announced prices of $39.99 USD for nonfoil and $49.99 USD for foil. Online sales are announced for November 16–30, 2026, ending at 1 a.m. PT; the opening hour is unstated. Wizards also announces limited availability at MagicCon: Atlanta, November 13–15.

For general sales, 50% of the sales price, less third-party transaction fees, goes to Children’s Miracle Network through Our Change Foundation. The Extra Life booth has a separate donation of 100% of proceeds, less fees.

For an art-first collection, decide whether a foil finish is worth the extra $10 to you. Digital previews cannot show how the physical foil will look in a binder. Start with whether you would enjoy returning to this little adventure on the page.
