Lorcana’s Hyperia City gives Coco fans a reason to collect after dark

Coco makes its Lorcana debut in October, while Mickey and Cinderella lead the Iconic reveals. Take a look at the nighttime chase art, new ink drops and a family scene worth a binder pocket.

If you collect Disney cards for the artwork, Hyperia City gives you a reason to linger over the binder. Coco joins Disney Lorcana in October, and some of the set’s special-art cards take us out after dark. Max Goof has found the karaoke stage, so plan your exit before someone requests an encore.

New to Lorcana? It’s Disney’s trading card game, where familiar characters turn up in new roles. These versions are called glimmers, so seeing Cinderella at work on a gown or Miguel playing in a magical city is part of the fun.

Which chase cards are worth a closer look?

Start with the two confirmed Iconics, Lorcana’s rarest card tier: Mickey Mouse — Best in Town and Cinderella — Unintentional Icon. Mickey tips his hat beneath golden lights, while Cinderella gets a full-card sewing-room scene. They give character collectors two very different places to start a want list.

The October 1 art spotlight shows why the Enchanteds deserve their own page. Enchanted cards are foil versions with alternate artwork; here, they show the city at night while much of the regular art takes place during the day. Un Poco Loco fills a concert stage, Max reaches toward a karaoke crowd, and Raya explores a lantern-lit street. Pick the outing you would join.

Coco gives a family binder page its first cards

Miguel and Héctor Rivera arrive with songs and other Coco characters, including Pepita and Ernesto de la Cruz. A movie collection is an easy way to start if a complete set sounds like homework: choose the people and moments you want to see when you open the binder.

Our first pocket goes to Remember Me. Its artwork shows Héctor singing to little Coco beneath a tree, a family moment you can appreciate before learning a single game rule. Put it beside Miguel — Street Musician and you already have the beginning of a story.

What are the new ink drops?

Players get a new resource to experiment with. Ink pays for the cards you play, and an ink drop provides one extra ink before leaving the game when spent. You can spend it straight away or save it for a later turn. Some cards reward using a drop, which gives you a choice between spending that extra ink now and keeping it for another play.

Give your October want list a stopping point

Booster packs contain random cards, so decide whether you want the surprise of opening packs or a particular card for your page. Once singles are available, buying the exact card is the direct route to a named chase. A whole box cannot read your mind, even when Mickey is on the packaging.

Our Hyperia City collector guide puts the revealed watchlist, card numbers, rarity comparison and buying choices together. Start with a page you want to finish, and leave room for the card that makes you smile.
