KAYOU My Little Pony Trading Card Game
This is KAYOU’s playable game. Its official collection page puts the Friendships Begin starter decks and Fantasy Wonderland, Discord!!!, Nightmare Night and Hearth’s Warming Eve boosters under Trading Card Game. A holiday scene from Hearth’s Warming Eve belongs here, even if you collect it only for the illustration.
Use the game’s own product gallery and rules when identifying these cards. The Rarity starter deck, for example, is listed as Friendships Begin (Rarity), with model MLP-KP-YYQH-RT-001A-NA. A starter product and a booster product are different places to begin a checklist. KAYOU collections · Rarity starter
KAYOU Friendship Eternal Cards
Friendship Eternal is the collectible line. KAYOU lists Moon Edition, Fun Moments Edition, Rainbow Edition and Star Edition separately from its Trading Card Game. Write down the edition and series together: “Moon Edition Series 3” is more useful than “MLP Series 3.” KAYOU collections
If you are collecting favorite pictures, either KAYOU line can be appealing. If you are buying cards to play the KAYOU game, choose products identified as Trading Card Game rather than assuming every pony pack supplies cards for it.
Twilight Sparkle
KAYOU Trading Card Game: Twilight Sparkle, BP04-RR01, from Hearth’s Warming Eve. The product gallery identifies the line; the complete printed code helps identify the card. Official KAYOU digital render; original notices retained.
Princess Twilight Sparkle
KAYOU Friendship Eternal: Princess Twilight Sparkle from Moon Edition Series 3. Its complete code, MLPME03-SC-001L5, belongs with that product’s checklist, not the Hearth’s Warming Eve checklist. Official KAYOU digital render; original notices retained.
Enterplay trading cards and the Enterplay CCG
Enterplay made both My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic trading cards and a separate Collectible Card Game. Contemporary reporting from 2013 distinguished the existing trading-card series from the new game’s starter decks and boosters. Check the publisher and exact product title before using a KAYOU checklist for an older binder. ICv2’s contemporary report
The Enterplay CCG has its own card types, including Mane Characters, Friends and Problems. Those names can help identify an older game card. A card that only shares Twilight’s name or picture is not enough to establish that it belongs to the same game. CGC’s Enterplay CCG overview
Keep the region and version with the series
English wording alone does not identify the regional package. KAYOU’s Moon Edition Series 3 pages give a useful example:
Both pages list eight cards per pack and 290 card types. The packaging details differ even though the edition and series names match. Use the exact model printed on your packaging, not just a retailer’s shortened title. These two pages alone do not establish every card-level difference between the versions. | Regional product | Version | Product ending | Exact package model | Packs per box |
|---|---|---|---|---|
North America | A | 003-NA | MLP-KP-YYYH-HY-003NA | 24 |
EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) | B | 003B-EMEA | MLP-KP-YYYH-HY-003B-EMEA | 12 |
Read the whole card number, including small marks
For KAYOU’s playable TCG, the rules distinguish a card’s gameplay identity from its illustration and printing information. Cards can share the main alphanumeric ID while having different artwork or a Shining mark, ※. Printing information identifies a batch without changing gameplay. KAYOU’s linked rules, sections 201.8–201.9
That matters when you want a particular picture. In Hearth’s Warming Eve, BP04-RR01 shows Twilight Sparkle beside a snowpony, while ※BP04-RR01 shows her holding a star as Spike tangles with ribbon. The scenes are different, so keep the full code and a picture in your want list, along with the English language and 1st Edition text. “Twilight Sparkle” on its own leaves too much room for a different card. Official Hearth’s Warming Eve gallery
Rarity labels need their product context too. The Friendships Begin starter deck featuring Rarity lists six rarity tiers; Moon Edition Series 3 lists ten. Use the relevant product’s labels rather than combining different lines into one rarity ladder. Neither a rarity code nor a digital gallery image tells you a card’s current selling price or proves how its physical surface looks under moving light.
Twilight Sparkle
The same main TCG number can accompany different artwork. This Twilight Sparkle render carries the Shining mark, ※, before BP04-RR01. Record the complete code and the scene you want. Official KAYOU digital render; original notices retained.
Make a useful record before you put the wrapper away
Keep a clear photo of the pack or box and both sides of the card. For each card you want to find again, record:
