What you open this week

Pokémon.com’s product showcase lists the 16 September wave as the Elite Trainer Box, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, the Poster Collection, the Tech Sticker Collection, the Knock Out Collection, and the Sylveon ex and Greninja ex boxes. Later boxes, tins, battle decks, the Ultra-Premium Collection, and the anniversary binder are not this week.

Each booster holds five foil cards — including one of 30 unique Pikachu illustrations — plus a foil Basic Energy. There is no non-foil bulk in the pack. In FoilFox, foil is the finish on every row from this set, including Energy.

What to catalog, and what not to mix

Futuristic Rare is a new rarity name on this expansion. The first two shown are Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN. Do not file those as a Hyper Rare or as a Destined Rivals Mewtwo.

The 30 Pikachu cards share a collector story and not a single variant. Pokémon.com presents them as unique illustrations. Save each artist’s Pikachu as its own printing.

Classic Collection reprints — Pokémon.com names Base Set Charizard and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX from Sun & Moon—Team Up as examples — “won’t be legal to play in the Standard format.” File them on a history or Unlimited page. They do not complete a 2026 Standard checklist. The three-card Classic Collection pack is exclusive to the Ultra-Premium Collection on 6 November, not to this week’s ETBs.

1
30 unique illustrations · one per pack

Pikachu

Guaranteed in every booster. Catalog each illustration as its own variant. Duplicates are for trades, not a second row of the same art.

2
Futuristic Rare

Mewtwo ex

New rarity name. Not Destined Rivals Mewtwo and not a gold Hyper Rare from another Mega-era set.

3
Futuristic Rare

Mew ex

Partner Futuristic Rare. Keep it on the 30th Celebration printing, not a prior Mew ex.

What waits

Pokémon.com dates the Booster Bundle and Mini Tins to 2 October, the Espeon ex and Umbreon ex Battle Decks to 30 October, the Ditto Premium Collection, Day & Night Ultra-Premium Collection, and Mew & Mewtwo Figure Collections to 6 November, and the Binder Collection to 4 December. If the job this week is “open packs,” the later SKUs are a different shopping list.
