What kind of set is Spark of Rebellion?
Spark of Rebellion is set during the Galactic Civil War, so its cards are Rebels and Imperials, their vehicles, and their troopers. A leader stays in play for the whole game, and every leader comes in several versions that share the same name and subtitle.
Showcase leaders have been what collectors chase since launch, while Carbonite Edition and its Prestige cards arrived later, with Jump to Lightspeed. Most leaders here, such as Han Solo — Audacious Smuggler, come as the regular card, a Hyperspace version whose artwork runs to the card’s edges, and a Showcase version made for collectors. Faithful Friend and Dark Lord of the Sith are the exceptions, because their Showcase versions came later as promo cards.
Which Spark of Rebellion cards do collectors still hunt?
Luke Skywalker — Faithful Friend
$4.02TCGplayer market estimate
The leader the game was taught with. His Showcase version, a later promo card, keeps the Faithful Friend subtitle, so read a listing for the version as well as the name.
Darth Vader — Dark Lord of the Sith
$4.46TCGplayer market estimate
Vader is the Imperial counterpart to Faithful Friend, and like Luke his Showcase version came later as a promo card.
Luke Skywalker — Jedi Knight
$8.70TCGplayer market estimate
This Luke is the Legendary unit, and his Hyperspace version keeps the Jedi Knight subtitle and the same card underneath.
Avenger — Hunting Star Destroyer
$3.25TCGplayer market estimate
The ship collectors chase from the first set. Later sets print other Star Destroyers, so match the Hunting Star Destroyer subtitle.
Superlaser Blast
$4.61TCGplayer market estimate
The set’s Legendary event. Later Death Star events carry different names, which makes this one easy to pick out.
Han Solo — Audacious Smuggler
$0.11TCGplayer market estimate
The Spark of Rebellion Han leader. Jump to Lightspeed has a different Han leader, Never Tell Me the Odds, which is also #017, so check the set symbol before you pay.
