What this set is
Master Ball reverse holos, the pattern collectors know from Japan’s version of this set, were not printed in English 151. A reverse holo has its shine around the artwork instead of on the picture, and English 151 reverse holos use the regular pattern. The Poké Ball and Master Ball patterns first reached regular English cards in Prismatic Evolutions, after Shrouded Fable packs had already put the Poké Ball pattern on basic Energy cards.
The Kanto starters have Illustration Rares too, full-art cards of a regular Pokémon rather than an ex, and Charmander #168 and Squirtle #170 are the ones collectors look for. They are separate cards from the Special Illustration Rares of the evolved Pokémon, so Charmander and Charizard, or Bulbasaur and Venusaur, are different purchases even when you want them on the same page.
